Fishing fans near and far gathered at SH Wallace Marine
on Friday, October 10, 2025, for one unforgettable night: the Reel Thrills 2025.
The annual open night was a massive success, bringing together passionate
anglers, expert speakers, and industry leaders for an evening full of insights,
prizes, and great company.
Guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks courtesy of the
Merrigum Lions Club, whose sizzling BBQ kept spirits high all night long. The
crowd was captivated by presentations from some of Australia’s most respected
names in fishing and marine technology.
Cod fishing legend Rod Codmac Mackenzie shared his unmatched
expertise on landing trophy Murray Cod, inspiring attendees with stories,
techniques, and wisdom from decades on the water. Shaun Clancy, BLA Lifestyle’s Product Manager
for Minn Kota and Humminbird, followed with a deep dive into the latest marine
tech, offering hands-on insights to help every boater and angler get the most
from their gear.
The evening featured plenty of door prizes, raffles, and
giveaways, with some lucky guests taking home top-quality merchandise and
exclusive rewards. A special thanks goes out to Honda Marine Australia, the
event’s major sponsor, for their incredible support, generous prize donations,
and hands-on involvement throughout the planning process. Their commitment
truly helped make Reel Thrills 2025 one to remember.
